The Peoples Hall
The People’s Hall, Nottingham — Paranormal Investigation
Friday 14 August 2026
We began the evening by welcoming all of our guests and giving everyone some background on the history of The People’s Hall.
Our first investigation took place in the ground-floor main room, where we carried out Singapore Theory with music. As there had not previously been a paranormal investigation at the venue for a long time, we were interested to see what activity we could capture. Three mediums joined us on the night, and they independently picked up on a man who did not appear to be connected to the history of the hall. Interestingly, the K2 meter activated near the fireplace, and the spirit appeared not to like the music.
We then moved upstairs for a Victorian séance using a Spirit Box and blindfolds. There was a particularly strong connection to children in this room, possibly twins, and several names were received. The mediums had very strong impressions surrounding one particular child, who appeared confused. Some very emotional reactions from guests, including cries, added to the atmosphere.
Next came our Yes or No Hartley Method session and what happened was outstanding. There was a huge amount of activity, with the environmental bell repeatedly responding to questions and apparent yes or no responses coming through. We also witnessed what appeared to be a large orb that was there one moment and gone the next. The lights at the back of the room repeatedly switched on and off, coinciding with the apparent presence of something standing behind the person conducting the session.
We then split into smaller breakout groups. One group investigated the top floor, where there was a great deal of activity, including apparent communication relating to a cat. Another group experienced less activity overall but did receive apparent interaction with a child. The motion equipment also activated, making the top floor one of the most active areas of the night.
During the mirror scrying session, two participants reported seeing faces change one appearing as a young boy and another as a very old man. We also experienced activity involving a door. With nobody outside, the door appeared to open. We communicated with whatever may have been present and asked for the door to close, which it did. We then asked for it to open again, and it opened once more. We also heard what sounded like footsteps or walking outside the door.
After another short break, we spent some time sharing stories and experiences with our guests before moving into free time.
At the end of the night, we compared some of the names and information we had received during the investigation with the venue's staff. Amazingly, several of the names and details we had picked up matched information they already knew about the history of the building. This gave us an incredible ending to an already very active investigation.
A huge thank you to every single person who joined us. You made the night what it was, and we loved hearing all of your experiences, reactions and stories throughout the evening.
Thank you for investigating The People’s Hall with us!
